Thursday Evening of Celebration in Photos

Thursday Night Recap: How Great Is Our God

How Great Thou Art!

With a powerful anthem of the faith featuring voices singing in languages from around the world, WGM's International Celebration of Missions was kicked off on Thursday, June 25.

Featured Missionary Speaker

Don Moon spoke about the importance of Latin American missionaries serving in restricted-access countries and empowering Latin American churches to be sending churches of missionaries. Last year, the Center for Cross-cultural Missionary Training trained 38 missionaries.

ACT: Learn about unreached people groups; Joshua Project is a great resource for understanding unreached people. Pray for candidates in Latin American, and pray for Don and Glenda Moon and others who are involved in training.

Main Speaker

Dave Engbrecht: The Power of Partnership

Philippians 1:3-6 "I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus."

Why partnerships?

1. Partnership is biblical. This is the way God wants to do things. Never in our own strength; but in God's. God's first human creation was a partnership, and Jesus modeled partnership in how He sent His disciples.

2. Partnership is effective. They create exponential growth and progress. When we work in alignment with churches and other believers, we can go farther, faster, and are far stronger than we are as individuals.

3. Partnership is sustainable. Healthy partnerships transcend a single personality. They remove the need for a single champion or person at the lead.

As we explore the theme "Demonstrate Missions" throughout the next several days, it is clear that God is leading WGM into greater partnerships - with churches, with other organizations, with national partners, and others. And all for the glory of His name in order to accomplish His purposes.

ACT: WGM's Member Health staff travel around the world and across the country to give missionaries counseling and spiritual care, often into crisis situations. They bring hope and healing to missionaries and national partners who carry heavy burdens. For more information and to donate to this ministry, please visit this link.

Demonstrate Missions: International Celebration 2015

January 15, 2015
I love this time of year. Despite the frozen landscape outside (at least here in Indiana), January is a time of new beginnings—resolutions for health and personal development, a fresh calendar on the wall, and the opportunity for a clean slate. And by God’s grace, we aim to grow deeper in faith and closer to the Lord and to take steps to actively demonstrate that faith.

In Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 (NIV), we read, “Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor. If either of them falls down, one can help the other up…. Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.” Time and time again in Scripture, we see how God intends His children to work together in serving Him. Indeed, we are infinitely blessed when we partner with others for the common cause of the Great Commission.

In the spirit of that desire to serve together, I invite you to attend WGM’s International Celebration of Missions, June 25-28, 2015, at Huntington University in Huntington, Indiana. With the theme “Demonstrate Missions,” we look forward to a time of worship, inspiration, and collaboration on how we as the Church can carry forth the cause of missions.
Reserve your spot at International Celebration of Missions by calling 765.664.7331 or emailing wgm@wgm.org. More details will be forthcoming as we move closer to this time. It’s truly a privilege to serve our Lord with you, and I am excited to see how God moves at this Celebration!

When His people come together with a common goal of worship and sharing the message of the gospel, God does incredible things. International Celebrations happen only every five years, so we anticipate a wonderful time together with our team of partners. I sincerely hope you can be a part of International Celebration of Missions 2015.
